I have to thank Hyderabad bloggers & blogging community for giving me this perfect end of the year piece.
Hyderabad Bloggers Meet
This Saturday, we had a no agenda free flowing meet. As many as 25 bloggers from various walks of blogging joined in. Some were old faces but a lot of them were new. We discussed some fun and some serious topics. Shared experiences from our blogs and technical tips followed.
This meet we did an experiment. We asked everyone to clean up their homes and get whatever they no longer use to the meeting for anyone who can use to pick up. We had a table full of items. And at the end of the meet, only a few small items were left and everything else had been re-distributed. Items included old phone sets, old but wearable clothes, books, stationary, music, kitchen items and other random stuff. I hope we are able to replicate this and re-use things that we no longer want. In a way establishing a feeling of community when individualism is fast getting hold of us. As everyone was picking up what they wanted I was observing from a distance.
I was happy that no one thought twice before picking up what they thought they could use. Re-using things within our vicinity is an important step in waste management and reducing consumption.
The food and tea for the meeting were also contributed by bloggers. And the venue was provided by Our Sacred Space in Secunderabad.
Thank you, Hyderabad Bloggers.
Thank you, Anuradha, for being the driving force behind this get-together! 🙂
Reusing things (that are not required for others) is a good concept – it’s good to see bloggers doing that in a meet, for a change.
