Kamlapur is a small village, about 60 Kms from Bangalore towards Tumkur. Me and my three friends decided to go their and spend some time with nature. We started the day with some nice breakfast at Koshy’s on St Marks Road, and then drove down to Kamlapur, almost without loosing our way. As soon as you diverge from the Main Tumkur road, the road according to me was not drivable, but we did drive inside the village and then into some absolute wilderness. Sun was at its shining best, and I forgot my favorite cap for such day in my car. Three of us were tired after a small hike and decided to sit on the slope of a hill and admire the view from there, while Hari decided to go around the hill.
Kamlapur – One Day Trip From Bangalore.
There are a few cottages in the midst of absolute wilderness, with a few natural lakes around it. Small and delicate bridges across some terrains make the place look very beautiful and romantic. Someone is trying to develop it as a resort and nature camping place with facilities for adventure sports built in. The process is still on and there are things that still need to be done, like having facility for food, parking and relaxing (for those who do not want to tire themselves).
On a good weather day, it is a nice place to spend a day as picnic. Carry your food, spread a sheet and sit in the shade of some tree, carry some games to play there and just relax. A night trek would also be fun, followed by a camp fire or a cooking session.
We hit Bangalore back by afternoon and treated ourselves to some good Chinese food followed by some mouth watering desserts. A day well spent with nature and some great food.
